Lavrio

Lavrion Port serves the Cruise Industry

The 2005 decision by the administration of the Lavrion Port to upgrade the existing passenger terminal to a Cruise terminal, fully functional and compliant with the requirements of the Schengen and ISPS protocols, opened up a window of opportunity that would allow the port to develop into a Home porting facility supporting the Eastern Med Cruise industry.

The current terminal capacity enables simultaneous processing of passengers of up to two cruise vessels with future plans in place to increase the capacity further, contributing both to the national as well as the local economy.

Following Piraeus and Corfu ports, Lavrion is dynamically developing into a Cruise Home porting facility, aiming to attract a fair share of the Cruise business in the Aegean and greater Eastern Mediterranean region.
