CORFU Port of Corfu Corfu is one of the northernmost and westernmost islands of Greece and the Io- nian Sea. It is located at the entrance of the Adriatic Sea near the mainland coast of Greece and belongs to the Ionian Islands complex. The port of Corfu serves cruise, coastal shipping and commercial activities. The developmental dynamics of the port of Corfu are directly linked to the development of the maritime tourism sector, mainly by cruise and yachting. The port has docks from 120 - 430m length with a draft up to 11m for the simul- taneous arrival of seven cruise ships. The port operates an integrated security system based on an approved “Port Facility Security Plan” that complies with all the terms of the ISPS Code of Conduct. It has two cruise passenger stations with full equipment capable of serving the needs of a cruise terminal. The Corfu Port Authority has operating waterways licenses for the ports of Corfu and Paxoi, while the procedures for the waterway licensing to Diapontia Islands (Mathraki, Erikoussa, Othoni), which are also under its authority, have already started, giving a further push in cruise and tourism of the islands in general.
