THESSALONIKI Port of Thessaloniki Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece. It is a modern and multicultural city in the center of Northern Greece. The port of Thessaloniki is a European port, a natural way out of the economic activity of the countries in the wider Balkan region. It serves the growing needs of these countries for import and export of raw materials, consumer products and capital equipment. Thessaloniki is a lever for the growth of the Greek economy, while playing an essential role in the effort of Northern Greece, to establish itself as an economic crossroads in the Eastern Mediterranean. The port of Thessaloniki has two jetties of between 230 m and 400 m length and 8.5 mtrs depth, available for cruise ships approach. The port is operated by an in- tegrated ISPS security system based on an approved “Port Facility Security Plan”, which meets all the terms of the Code of Safety. There is also a Passenger Station, fully equipped to serve cruise passengers which is located just five minutes from the city center.
