The port of Rhodes has 6 piers for cruise ships permitting the approach for ships up to 380m in length and up to 10m draft. The port implements approved Safety Plans in accordance with the statutory framework, such as the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) and the International Safety Management Code (ISM). The port area is guarded by the Port Police and a private security company. Port operates as a hub port as well. At the Port Passengers terminal which serves cruise passengers there are DutyFree shops, waiting rooms, shops and Info desk giving information on the history, culture, sights and the market of Rhodes and other port and town facilities. At the same time, there are specially arranged and organized spaces in the port area for tourist buses and taxis parking, securing access / boarding of the visitors.
